Ray's numbers, not yours. SFERS safety members do not pay into Social Security on this job.
Make your money work for the life you want. A free account is where it starts: paying down what you owe, building savings that hold, and understanding your own money well enough that it works for you.
Run it with your own numbers, and the whole breakdown comes with it: every line, what it is, and what it does to your month.
Free account, no card. Snap your first stub after and your plan is saved to your account.
Hired on or after 7 January 2012 (Charter A8.605, Police). The age factor is 2.2% a year at 50 and rises 0.025 points per completed quarter of age to 3.0% at 58, with a 90% cap. Age 50 and five years of credited service are required. Final compensation is your highest three consecutive fiscal years, or the 36 months before you retire, and overtime and premium pay are excluded.
SFERS safety members do not pay into Social Security, so there is no age-62 offset against this pension. Your check carries Medicare only. Most tools get this wrong.
A pension estimate is half the picture: it is the guaranteed half. What fills the gap is your own saving, month by month, out of the paycheck you have now. Snap your stub and we read every line we can verify, and hold the ones we cannot.
