Privacy Policy
Your choices, up front. You can opt out of advertising sharing at any time. The button below turns it off in this browser right away. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out automatically.
We at MoneyBadger, Inc. (“MoneyBadger,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) have created this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) because we know that you care about how information you provide to us is used and shared. This Privacy Policy relates to our information collection and use practices in connection with our App, and when you interact with us in any other way. By clicking “I AGREE,” checking a box presented in connection with account creation, subscription purchase, or use of certain no-account features, or otherwise manifesting assent where such option is presented to you, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy and the accompanying Terms of Service.
Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning set forth in our Terms of Service.
I. The Information We Collect and/or Receive
In the course of operating the App, and/or interacting with you, we will collect (and/or receive) the following types of information. You authorize us to collect and/or receive such information.
1. Contact Information.
When you contact us via email or in any other manner, you will be asked to provide certain information, such as your name, email address, and information regarding your inquiry or request (collectively, the “Contact Information”). The Contact Information is used to provide the requested service or information and to contact you for purposes of direct marketing of our current and future products and services.
2. Account Information.
Certain features of the App, including the Snap paystub-analysis feature, may be available without creating an account or providing your name to MoneyBadger. If you create an account, register, or purchase a Subscription, you will have to provide your name and email address and create a password (collectively, the “Account Information”). We use your Account Information to create and administer your account, including verifying your identity and managing account access. If you provide your email address, we may also use it to send marketing communications, manage waitlist registrations, and deliver access or verification codes.
3. Financial Information.
Depending on how you use the App, you may provide department or employer, years of service, and paystub information that you choose to share, such as pay amounts, deductions, and pay codes. The Snap paystub-analysis feature can be used without creating an account and does not require you to provide your name or email address to MoneyBadger. We do not require your Social Security number or bank account information in paystub images and request that you redact or crop such information before submitting any documents. We prompt you to crop your details, such as your name and address, out of a paystub image before uploading, but we do not automatically detect or remove address information on your device, and server-side redaction applies to extracted text, not the uploaded image.
4. Information Received from Third Parties
We may collect personal information about you from third parties that support our services, including financial data providers. For example, if you choose to link your financial accounts, we use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to securely connect to your financial institution and retrieve your account information. Through this integration, Plaid enables us to access certain financial data on a read-only basis, such as your account balances, transaction history, and account identifying information. We do not receive or store your financial institution login credentials. By linking your financial accounts, you acknowledge and agree that your information will be processed by Plaid in accordance with Plaid’s privacy practices. Plaid may collect, use, and store your information as described in its Privacy Policy (https://plaid.com/legal/#privacy-policy), and you expressly consent to such processing. The information we receive from Plaid may include, depending on how you use our services, your name, contact information, account details, transaction history, and balances. We use this information to provide, maintain, and improve our services, including features that rely on analyzing your financial data. You can disconnect your financial accounts at any time through your account settings or by using the Plaid Portal. Please note that disconnecting Plaid may limit or disable certain features of the services that depend on access to your financial account information.
5. User Content.
You may post and/or upload User Content through the App. We use User Content in accordance with our Terms of Service.
6. Billing Information.
If order to purchase a Subscription, you will be required to provide certain additional information which may include a credit card number, expiration date, billing zip code, activation code, bank information, and similar information (“Billing Information”). Such Billing Information will be collected and processed by our Third-Party Payment Processors pursuant to the terms and conditions of their privacy policies and terms of use.
